History of GMGC Multan

Knowledge is the foundation of human progress, guiding both spiritual and material development and shaping the intellect and character of individuals. The importance of education has always played a transformative role in society, illuminating minds and nurturing civilizations.
Government Millat Graduate College, Multan was established in August 1970 to meet the growing educational needs of the city. At that time, existing colleges in Multan were already overcrowded, and many students were unable to secure admission due to limited capacity. This situation was particularly challenging for students from distant areas such as Mumtazabad, who faced significant difficulties in commuting to far-off institutions.
Recognizing this urgent need, Mr. Mirza Musrat Baig (Late), a renowned educationist and experienced administrator, founded Millat College in Mumtazabad an area where access to higher education was acutely lacking. Under his dedicated supervision, the college experienced remarkable growth, expanding its academic activities during both daytime and evening sessions.
On September 1, 1972, the college was taken under national custody by the Government, marking a significant milestone in its development. Later, on October 12, 2007, by the order of the Government of Punjab, the institution was upgraded from inter level and granted the status of Government Millat Degree College. As a result, BA and BSc programs were introduced between 2008 and 2010.
Further academic expansion continued with the launch of ADA and ADS programs on December 10, 2021, followed by the commencement of BS programs on February 24, 2023, under the affiliation of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU), Multan.
Today, Government Millat Graduate College, Multan stands among the leading colleges of the city. Its dedicated faculty not only imparts quality education but also plays a vital role in character building and moral development. The spirit of unity, professional harmony, and individual attention to students has earned the college a distinguished reputation for academic excellence and constructive co-curricular activities.
